I’m both doing this to inform plus give me ‘sticky-note’ info:

3UR motor oil change with a new filter: 7.9 qt 0-20 oil / — can go 5-20 if towing heavily.

TQ specs:

Filter main cap: 18 ft/lb
Filter cap drain plug: 9 ft/lb

*small O-ring in OE filter is for the stock filter cap drain plug*

If using a aftermarket filter cap AKA Jowett , use the same main cap / flush drain TQ values.

I’ve been running 5w-30 in both my Tundra and LandCruiser for a while and they seem happier - especially at cold idle. I live in the desert. YMMV.

Mostly good; couple changes in that the oil capacity (with filter change) varies by year on the tundra.

Also going from 0-20 to 5-20 is pretty much pointless other than a higher cold starting viscosity. 0-30 or 5-30 is what will make a difference.

-8.5qts (with filter change) of 0w-20 if 2020 3UR or later; 7.9qts (with filter change) 2019 and earlier.

-Good filter tool. TOY640 is excellent, US made, and not expensive.

-Toyota 04152YZZA4 filter kit pay attention to how the housing gaskets fit

You will need a 24mm socket to use the above tool. You will also want a torque wrench.

OEM drain plug fiber washer.

Filter housing drain cap- 9 ft/lbs
Filter housing- 18 ft/lbs
Drain plug- 27-28 ft/lbs
