For those (few) interested in an OEM cat-back exhaust system, here are the part numbers for everything from the rear of the converters on back, including pipes, gaskets, nuts, bolts, and rubber supports for a 2004 Land Cruiser. In parentheses are how many of each part are needed if more than one. The total discounted price was $898. A couple hours hard work for my son and me got the old one off and the new one on. Very quiet at all speeds; my muffler must have been rust- holed for a while.

Can anyone who has replaced a cat back exhaust system provide guidance on the need to raise the LC in order to replace the system? If the LC needs to be raised, where would you place the jack stands?

It does not have to be raised. I did my OEM exhaust with wheels on the ground. There were times I wished for more clearance to move around and it would much easier to do the job on a lift, but it's doable and it's usually safer to work underneath with wheels on.

I assume that you prefer to not hear your truck, and theres nothing wrong with that, but I must say with dyno tuned options that can have a silencer built in that is quite an expensive OEM replacement. I'm kind of with you though... this weekend I was in 4Lo in crawling rocks in the snow and the only sound I could hear was my locked rear slipping on ice. It was soooo peaceful.

Sandroad, thanks for the list and advice on lifting. I haven't decided on OEM or EMS. I am going to disassemble first to see if I need cat back. The muffler is shot. I also need to find a good source for OEM Toyota parts so I too can get a "discount".

upping an old thread to check on part numbers..

This is the part number in the Original thread for Resonator: 17405-50030. That is coming up as not compatible for my 2007 100 series.

Exhaust Tail Pipe Sub-Assembly (#17405-50040) - This is what comes up as the correct part # for my 2007, I wanted to try to get confirmation on correct part prior to blind ordering - I'm assuming this is the actual correct part # for 2006-2007. Thanks for any help.
