Marty and I have been discussing a club trip in October. The tentative date it Oct 8-10. The location is Washita offroad park near farmington Mo. I have been for 2 day trips but would really like to spend a weekend exploring there. Who's interested? The date is two weekends after the TAC SMORR event. Weather should be perfect for camping.

Shoot, I can't that weekend. I could the next weekend though, the 15th-17th.

Green Country Cruisers has their fall Picnic that weekend at Disney( Grand Lake). Its close to you so you should come up to that event. Several NW Arkansas members. I will probably make the Saturday day trip.

Won't be able to make Farmington trip---working nights and not enough vacation time.

I could probably make the Disney day trip for Green Country picnic though

Anybody up for something Labor Day weekend?

I should be open for anything... I've been lookin to do a oct/nov trip to Bryd's in Cass, but any place will work. Does Washita have electric campsites?

I think they have a few electric sights but they are right up front by the entrance. We camped down in the valley when we were there.

You wont need electric then. Weather should be perfect. I am assuming you can run a few things in your camper on battery.

You wont need the A/C in October

ya, i know i wont need the ac... I'm just not so sure how long everything will run on the battery... havent tested it before. I'll prop bring the gen just incase i need to charge it all up.

still thinkin washita?

Switch all your lighting in your camper to LED's. They draw way less power.

thats actually a really good idea... I'll have to look into that... i also worried about the 12V required to run the fridge controls, water pump, and heater (if needed). Fridge especially.

Best to find out on a nice cool weekend vs a hot summer night. You can experiment at SMORR in a few weeks see how long it takes to draw down.

You might also check into a solar charger panel. That way you could supplement the battery during the day. I have a dual battery setup and so does marty. We can always trade out those for charging purposes if we need to. Lots of options.

Read post number 1 again. Location has always been set.

unfortunately I'm going to have to bow out on this trip. I'm going to go to the SCC that weekend, but I also have a AR-TTORA club meeting after the trip in Hot Springs that I really need to attend. Sorry guys I cant make it, I was looking forward to going someplace new! At least I'll get to see you guys this weekend!
