Had a nice day at Corova Sat. DIdnt meet up with Robert from Indie but did run into a cruiser or 2.

Heres some PICs

Pennys hill is still open in the back but is a little more difficult to get to. The path in has a lot more deep sand.

hahaha .... rednecks ....

Yeah
I chained it down for a week and got one shipped in, 35$.
The trail gear Bullet Proof didnt look the same, so I went with an exact fit.

fair enough

hahaha .... rednecks ....

alot of people actually chain down the engine then weld the chain in place so they dont have to worry about mounts breaking

Yeah I was thinking of a perm solution. Could you just go thru the rubber with a grade 8 and bolt..
Or I could just leave the chain there as a failsafe.

There goes the neighborhood!

Glad you got your mount fixed, ready to go again!?

I was at Oregon Inlet yesterday for a little while. Pulled out a Jeep Liberty and a Super Duty diesel that dug themselves in. SD guy gave me a 20 so that was cool.

You did better than me, I pulled out an old couple in a little croosover suv. A FullSize would be a nice notch on the gun.

I kinda am ready to go back. I think I would like to take it a little slower and figure out the lines, etc.
I had a blast but I felt a little rushed.
Munky and Ben make it look too easy.

You got a date in mind?

sorry man didnt mean to make you feel rushed at all.

No, didnt mean to say/imply that you guys made me feel rushed. Although it was tough keeping up with Rich(?) sometimes.

You guys can certainly get thru quicker than your heavy cousins.

The rushed part was just me feeing like I "needed" to keep up.
Which clearly is not the case in our small group.

I just need to be careful not to do damage on the easy parts of the trail, which is is real possibilty at Crozet. Hell, the bypass at the rock garden nearly rolled me and I think Mike had some issues there too.

Again, thanks for all the help out there.

Do you think you are going again soon?

gotcha man no worries, we should def go up and tool around at our own pace. Yes we the pickups are alot lighter than you guys in the FJs. Also Ben and I are both running 4.7s transfercase gears, so we can crawl alot lower than you guys. Both you and mike did really good out there. Not totally sure when i will be able to go up next but would love to get up there sometime in the near future though

dave, next weekend ill be at rausch and the begining of aug ill be at big dogs but if you wanted to go sometime in july i could probably swing it

July is no good for me but probably August I would like to go. I need to get some real sliders tho. Noel said he would trade me his homemades for my ARB steps, hopefully that is still cool since I beat mine up a little!

I agree with you Dave, I felt like I was rushing myself to keep up, and it also feels like you get stuck when you stop, so I was trying to stay on it a lot but bouncing off all the rocks in the process. Next time I plan on paying a lot more attention to the lines too. Even on the video of me after the rock that took my a/c, going up the hill I was wondering where I was looking at!

sounds good, let me know when is good with everyone ill talk to the war dept about it. Also if on the chance that we are up there tooling around just 3 or 4 of us then we can go as slow as yall want i have no prob with it. i would like to try a few harder lines for sure

How about we shoot for Aug 7 just as a starting point and see what happens?
I'll start a new thread so people can see the date.

Mike, let me know if you need help on the sliders. I have a 110V MIG if needed.

Dave

yeah i might be able to do that, although there is a Open Wheelin Weekend that was on the Schedule for July 17 - 18 not sure how many people are going i only see 2 people that have posted on the thread. Ideally i would like to do both but i will more than likely have to pick 1 or the other.
