I recently bought a Clark pressurized 80lb capacity blaster. A couple weeks ago I ended up messing with it all day and could not get consistent media flow. I tried 3 types of media, black diamond (cheap), which would immediately plug the blaster's valve and hose. I also tried garnet and aluminum oxide and they would not flow consistently through the valve and hose. They would surge and sometimes they too would completely plug up the valve or hose. I'm using a 14 cfm compressor and tried a number of PSI settings and tip sizes and media valve settings but could only get a short time of blasting before it would surge, stop, surge, stop, or completely plug up.

Frustrating. Just trying to clean up a few small parts took all day.

Oftentimes you can get moisture thru your hoses from the water in the bottom of your compressor. Try checking the drain plug on your compressor for any water build up. My only suggestion....

Thanks for the replies. Next time I try it I'll be sure to drain the compressor before I start as well as use a water trap.
