Hi all,

I'm down for a few months while recovering from a wrist surgery (bunch of screws & a plate) and looking for mechanic recommendations to help get my FJ40 back in shape to be ready for desert season. Does anyone have a shop or mechanic that knows their way around a 2F motor?

Except for one run last year with the group (which I broke down on) I completely missed the season. Attempting to not do that again!

List of things that I know need to be done:

Oil pan gasket
Valve Adjustment
Tie Rods
Brake bleed
Muffler replacement
I either need to replace the weber carb with a new one, move back to an Aisin, or go efi.

Thanks for any suggestions in advance! I'm in the La Costa/Carlsbad area if it helps.

Oh yeah.... @1973Guppie .... Noaks Ark. He is great with those trucks

Any one of those things I'd say let's have a wrench day and get it done. However, given the situation, I'd go with 73Guppie or Georg at Valley hybrids. So, on the subject of EFI, I am about to attempt this on my dad's 68 FJ40 and with Leno's Law just about there, will do the same on my FJ60. All paths are work but EFI will solve a lot of issues that plagued these engines so I'd say go that route.
