The National Parks Service (NPS) has announced that the public comment period for the Cape Hatteras National Seashore proposal to facilitate additional public beach access environment assessment will open July 1, 2013, and run through August 2, 2013. The Proposal to Facilitate Additional Public Beach Access project presents evaluation of two (2) alternatives for various improvements at the Seashore. Following the comment period, a decision on the action to be implemented will be determined. The final environmental assessment will guide park planning and prioritization of beach access
