I'm hearing noise from fan on passenger side (like fan is rubbing against piece of paper / wire etc)
What should I look at ?
Is it fan rubbing against something or something more involved (Can I be bit lazy with diagnosis or should I look at it right away)?

I'll bet you a dollar its a leaf. pull the fan and clean it. it's easy.

oh that would be relief. Also just to confirm - I don't hear it from engine bay (if I open the hood and try to listen)
There are two things.

One would be the leaf in the HVAC fan that is at the passenger feet. This fan can be dropped out with minimal effort and cleaned.

Change the dampers from outdoor to recirculate and see if it makes a difference in the noise. It may or may not.

The other is a cooling fan that is buried deep in the top of the dash as a cooling fan for the radio if I recall correctly. That one is much harder to replace, but less frequent of an issue.

Thanks for those suggestions

While you where in there....
Did you look at the Evaporator coil? It' just off to the side (toward center of truck). Its a good oppertunity to flush it or at least get the leaves off of it.

obviously I didn't :-/
However it's simple enough to remove that fan, I'll have a look and clean that over weekend (if I'm not lazy)
