Went to St Simmons Isl. GA. last week for some r&r. Driving on I-95 around 3:30 in the afternoon in a typical hotizontal afternoon rain storm the wipers stopped in the up right position and never moved again. Pulled over checked the fuse all was good. No sunlight in sight just dark clouds and pounding rain. waited till the rain slacked a little and checked wiper motor and it was running but no wiper action. Realized that the wiper link had broken and would require the entire link assembly to be repalced. Just the wife and i in the truck, we waited for a while and the rain never stopped. We still had approximately 40 miles to go until our exit #38. after making light of the situation for about a half hour the wife asked if i had any rope to tie to the wipers. I did and we tied a small tent rope the left and right wipers 1 routed through the driver window and another routed through the passenger window. after some practice she had the hang of it and we proceded back onto the interstate, realizing that we were driving into the storm instead of away from it. after many stops for the
to rest her arms she started to get blister on her fingers so she put on some gloves i had in our gear bag. after reaching our exit the roads were completely covered in water and was coming up over the hood. We pulled off again to rest and wait for the rain to subside a bit. It took us about 3 hours to drive 45 miles but we made it. I've got some pics from inside the cab but not here with me after i retrieve them from the camera i'll post them.
To add insult to injury the passenger side sunroof drain was clogged and every time we came to an abrupt stop the
