A friend of mine has a nissan altima first generation, 1994 or so, with the 4cylinder that has broken down. The engine started to overheat on the highway after the first 25 miles, made it back home and proceeded to let it cool down. Then drained and flushed the old coolant out, still had quite a bit of the old stuff, was rusty but no big clumps of anything. Flushed it for a while with the hose and then added some radiator flush from the auto parts store. Filled it with the flush and added water and let it idle for about 30 minutes then took it for a short drive. After a few miles it started to drive differently, described it as "hesitation", then shortly it died and would not start again.
Anyone know of a IH8Mud-like website for Altimas or that engine KA24DE, they were also used in Xterras, 240SXs, and a few JDM's.
Are these things easy to work on? There are altimas all over the place seems like parts would be cheap and easy to find.
