Ok so my 95 4runner(hilux surf JDM) is acting up and got me stumped. its just a standard 3.0 engine with an automatic trans. Few weeks ago it started to just click when i turned the key. not like the bendix was sticking it was more like the battery was dead but after a few tries it would fire up. then all of the sudden it wouldnt start but it would turn over. i checked the fuel rail and wasnt getting any fuel. So i replaced the fuel pump and filter. getting pressure and fuel at the fuel rail but now no spark. i am getting 12 V to the coil but not out (10.53V out). i get nothing as far as voltage out of the distributor as i turn the motor over. so do i have a bad coil, an ignitor, or like cam position sensor or ???. oh and by the way i live in Okinawa so any thing like an auto parts store doesn't exist so getting the coil tested is impossible.

ok i think i narrowed it down to the igniter. Only thing is i dont want to buy the toyota one since its like $350. My BIL got one for a chevy for his and its worked for years know and only cost him like 20 bucks. I would call him to ask but its so to late tonight any one know what i should order to substitute?

Wow guys thanks for the help apparently it doesn't work with the 3.0 so I guess I have to buy the Toyota one. Good lookin out 3 rd gen guys
