So i am putting my FJ on order, and i got to thinking about something. What wheel size is best for 4X4. I ask because i noticed that the stock and even upgraded wheels are 17's but the TRD wheels are 16's  . Any insight on this?

you have more tire options with the 16" rims... and eve more with 15" but you can't use 15" on the FJ so I'd get the TRD rims... or some steel wheel when they make one..

Why don't 15s work?

22's baby! :grinpimp:

15's are not big enough to fit over the brakes.

They come with standard 17" and the upgrade is also 17". I haven't seen any threads yet that have successfully found a 16" option that fits of the brake calipers. If you find one make sure to let us know!

There are 3 factory wheel choices, the black 17's, alloy 17's, and the 16 inch TRD's. If you want some that fit without a doubt, get the TRD's.

Has anyone tried putting stock FZJ80 wheels on the FJC yet?

...

I saw an FJC with some trailready beadlocks.... I'm not sure anyone will be wheeling their shiny new FJC hard enough to need beadlocks (yet), but they sure did look nice. Couldn't tell what size rims they were, but......

Of course, those of you in a state where the police actually look and/or care about vehicle regs can't use'm. Here in nashvegas, they really only look for tuner violations (clear tail lights, glasspacks... you know- things that are just a little too fast and too furious!).
