I have been looking for a tub/shower enclosure for a cottage ... so far the only unit that seems decent is one made by a company called Maax ("Studio") - acrylic one piece.

It doesn't have much tub width as a a fair bit of tub wall is dedicated to the optional (and I don't want/need) jacuzzi system. Has anyone got any other recommendations??? Would likely pass on their plumbing as well and use American Standard or Moen ..
thanks

we've had quite a bit of experience with Maax acrylic and fiberglass products. Overall, pretty good stuff. Not the nicest you could find, nor the crummiest. I agree with you to use name brand tub/shower valve. In my experience, my order of preference would be Kohler, Moen, American Standard, Delta, Price-Pfister, then everything else. Grohe makes some nice stuff, if you want to spend an entire day rebuilding it sometime. And their parts are ludicrously expensive.

PM me if you want more specific information. We've been a Plumbing & Heating Contractor for 30 years.

Check out Lasco bath products, Openads

Can you fit a one piece unit in the room? More times than not we can't get a one piece unit into the room and have to use a 2 or 3 piece unit. For one piece unit I agree with Lukezero about Kohler and I like Lasco and Aquaglass. If you need a module than there's Sterling (a Kohler company)but it's not acrylic. For a tub and shower valve I like Moen positemp for a mid priced temp balanced valve.

Kohler makes several nice units.

I have one of there shower / jacuzzi units in my MB and its quite nice.

Thanks very much for all the excellent guidance .. I ended up ordering a Maax "Calypso" one piece unit ... the door frames aren't installed yet so I can get the unit in ok...pretty much going to stick with Kohler/Moen/American Standard from here on though based on folks guidance
(...couldn't find Lasco products locally to look at them)
I imagine I will be back for more advice soon!!
