Hey everyone I have a 02 tacoma..Ive had it for a couple years and am looking to upgrade. although its a good truck I was looking for a new one. I was thinking a diesel but everyone said unless i wanna fork out more cash for repairs, or im towing heavy crap everyday, theres no need. which im not. Im 18 and just wanted a bigger truck. SO what do you guys think about a lifted tundra? I would love the older/newer body, if you guys know what I mean. I was looking at a 4 door 2006. So not the newest bodystyle. But they are bigger than the older ones and tacomas. If I were to get a 2006, what kind of lift would you put on the truck...To keep it from not getting problems, yet noticebly higher. Suspension or body? 3-5 inches I was thinking. Opinions?

Check out low range off road for lift/level kits... If you want an "upgrade" why don't you just lift/mod out your taco and make it a little different.

I had an 05 dbl cab Tundra.. I think 05 and 06 had the extra hp.
4.7L engine has a belt and is an interference engine, and oh ya it likes gasoline... big tank so range is good but you better take a few 20's to the station to fill it. Many would put a revtek 2 inch lift on them.

Nice riding truck... but I sold mine as I didn't need a truck in the end and settled on a 4Runner with a 5 X 10 utility trailer.

With front IFS, I'd keep the lift to 3" or less via a suspension lift.
