hey guys new to the club I have a 2000 LX, has about 195K runs smooth 0 issues. got her for a good deal.. what are somethings i should be looking for mechanical wise?

also is it normal for the ride height to go to N from High or low while driving? anyway to get it to stick to high or to low... any how looking to do some future mods!! would love any advice for a noob Toyota and new LX470 owner thanks

I think it's normal for the AHC to go back to N after a specific speed is exceeded.

If you haven't yet you should go to Lexus.com and under the Drivers tab you can register your VIN to reveal all previous Lexus service records (work done at Lexus Dealers) and download e copy manuals (or order hard copy). The AHC/AVS sections in the manual explain what the system does, doesn't do and it's functional characteristics including how the system will always return to N height - unless you've bypassed the vehicle speed inputs to the system.

Regarding things to look for - the usual thing is to baseline fluids and filters, grease the drive shafts and uni joints, clean throttle body and MAF, replace brake fluid and refresh the AHC fluid and check/restore neutral pressures to optimum. Is it due for more significant work like timing belt & water pump, wheel bearing repack and re torque? Of course the known service history will impact what should be done and at what interval. Wealth of info if you search any of the "new to me... what should I do" threads or search the term "baseline". I'm confident that every conceivable question you may have has been answered here, somewhere, so search is your friend.
