After many dedicated years keeping our club and club members safe, Jerome has decided to graciously step down as the Safety and Education Inspection General (I honestly don’t know what the official title for the position is, but I like the ring of it this way). Technically, Jerome stepped down at the beginning of the New Year, but due to his dedication to his position, he organized and helped plan the 2010 Tech Inspection held out at the Corcoran Airport this last Saturday. The highlight for everyone was to receive 1” stickers for our windshields that act as stamps for passing inspection. If you did not or could not attend, see me and we can inspect your rig to receive a stamp for passing the inspection.
With the success of the Inspection, Jerome indicated that it was past time for him to bow out and asked for a volunteer to take his position. It is also about time that I dedicate more time to the club even though I will have a difficult time meeting the bar Jerome has set for making safety and education important to us. So on that note, I will be the new Safety and Education guy for the club. Please, no snide comments, I heard them all already at the Tech Inspection.
On that note, I will have a little bit to pass around at our meetings and our club events to keep us aware of how to keep our fingers and toes attached to our bodies.
A big thank you to Jerome for doing such a great job and setting the bar high enough to keep us safe without feeling like our mommies are hovering over us all the time. Please visit the following link for a bit of lighter side safety… http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WaZ3yRvbvSM
