I just bought a 00 4rn limited w/ a 3.4 auto w/ 91,500 miles on it.
Here's my question it has a po172 code (running to rich) check engine light on. The temp spikes at stops and goes down when you take off. It also hesitites when you hit the gas pedal then cleans out.

Is it the maf or temp sensor?

Oh i cleaned the maf didn't work

I'd check the following things.

Coolant temperature sensor.

Water pump.

Thermostat.

My money is on the thermostat sticking/stuck partially closed.

Thanks guys I put a .5 gallon of water and the temp is doing better. The missing at low end is still there.
On my 60 series I have only used oem parts. I know I have two plug to go with but how about the maf
can I use napa or oem.

Sounds like MAF might be the 1st place to start.

You have 91,000 miles, when did you do spark plugs last?

The interval is 30,000 miles, so if you are wondering when you did them last, I'd start there.

Did you clean the MAF?

MAF Sensor Cleaning

When you cleaned the MAF Sensor, make you you fully removed it and got the two small platinum wires on the inside too. I just did my correctly today after thinking I'd done it right a couple times before. Here's the guide that helped me figure out I was retarded:
