I am a happy new owner of a 2015 Land Cruiser. I do backcountry archaeology surveys on the Colorado Plateau spending months at a time in the 4-Corners region each year. I know the entire region very well. I have been working from a 2010 JF Cruiser for some time and it has been an extremely capable rig in almost all respects. In 2016 I purchased a Taxa Cricket trailer which has been fabulous for extended remote living and it is solar powered. Both the FJ and the Cricket have a complete host of aftermarket and custom modifications, but due to a host of changing hauling and towing needs I have decided to move on to a new vehicle. As you may imagine several possibilities made the new 4x4 list, but my needs kept pulling me back to the LC. Over the many years I have owned four different Toyota products.
I have been lurking here for awhile gleaning information from all of you which has assisted me in solidifying my decision to make a LC200 purchase and for all of the insights here, I am grateful. I found a nice silver LC from Florida with no rust that is very clean that will become my new heavy duty backcountry rig. I find it interesting to move from a vehicle (FJ Cruiser) with amazing amounts of aftermarket support in every conceivable direction to one that is considerably more limited (Land Cruiser), but with the information on this forum I have been able to figure out the solutions.
Thanks and regards to all...
