Met Officer Steve a couple weeks ago in North Charleston. He gave me a flyer and I am finally able to join up. I have an 09 Tacoma 3" fr/rr lift, high clearance fr/rr bumpers, sliders, snorkel. Primarily looking for events and wheeling opportunities. See you guys around.

pics or it does not exist!

Nice, man. We do try to wheel often, just not much here local.
Check out the calendar for the December trip to URE with ONSC.
There will be several of us going. Come join us.

Ive seen him on tacomaworld

It has a close family tie to a landcruiser, so we are happy to have you along. :)

here's a crappy cell pic. nothing good from the trails recently.

3/16" plate back there, so not too worried. havent hung up anywhere yet. i think the only trail i havent done at URE has been daniel.

gotta work on an overheating issue before spring wheeling season starts.

We'll have a HAMOM before then, I turned wrenches professionally for about 15 years, so I think we can get it figured out.

cool. back story is that i went through the mudhole at the end of falls dam back in 2010. that's when it started. it only does it in extended periods of traffic or slow moving, trail rides. i killed my alt and battery going through it. got to a wash and sprayed out the radiator fins and can see through it to the engine compartment. already swapped the t-stat and next may be a radiator flush. other possibilities being the fan clutch, water pump, or head gasket?

is that a good line of thinking?

I would be suspect of the fan clutch. A clean radiator (clean coolant) usually wont plug up. I've only seen a couple of water pumps fail without leaking, again corrosion from dirty coolant. head gasket would do it all the time and either smoke (steam) out the tail pipe or blow coolant out of the radiator.

well then i'm guessing the fan clutch may be the culprit from your descriptions. not all the time and definitely no smoke. havent seen any water leaking from the pump. i've got 82k miles on this 09 and they call for a flush at 100k. may try the fan clutch first and see. also need to replace my driver's side wheel bearing. i picked one up, but dont have a press. need to see if i can take it back and buy the full bearing/hub assembly together and make it easy.
