New Guy Here. and a couple of questions??

Hi,

I am getting ready to purchase a 1997 Toyota Landcrusier from a private party and was wondering if there is something I should look out for inparticular? I have never owned a landcrusier before and your help might save me a bunch of money in the future. I know that these LC's are great trucks, but is anything for the 97 year that is a known problem? Thanks in advance.

read up on head gaskets, they are prone to failure especially if the cooling system is neglected, if it was well maintained and in good shape all other problems you have with it will be minor

Read the newbie guide posted on slee as HP points out up above, and scan the pages of this forum. There are several threads related to this and you'll find them very helpfull.
