Hi everyone so I just got me an fj cruiser yesterday! I have one problem. When I go at higher speeds the middle section of my hood starts to wobble. I looked under the hood and the brace type thing that supports the hood has these little adhesive rings that connect to the hood and in mine they are broken. I have pics. Could someone please tell me how they broke, if they are easy to fix and what they are called?

Have same issue with 80, but haven't experienced, nor heard of on FJC.

Believe its's an epoxy and looks to be in the pic. May be worth a trip to a body shop supply to see what product they'd recommend in, hopefully, a small quantity.

Ya I am going to a body shop over near me tomorrow. I didn't know if those were some sort of parts that had to be replaced or some type of adhesive. I thought it was rust at first which scared the s**t out of me

I'm experiencing the same on my 450. PO replaced hood skin after a hail storm, and was never reglued.

Epoxy exhibits serious bonding properties and is relatively common, but take precaution with. Not sure how to remove from that seam, but a body shop would know.

Use epoxy anchor bolts on relatively large steel columns, and they'll pull a chunk of concrete out before the epoxy will break free. Crazy strength.
