Married Life
Things are settling down a bit. My daughter doesn't understand that I need to work to get money from the machine.
Completely elated and sorry I didn't take the plunge earlier. My one and only complaint (if you can really call it that) is that my wife was in an accident with her mother in her childhood that still retains in memory. Sadly it's unlikely that she'll go wheeling with us anytime soon but there is hope. Upon her arrival last March, she flinched any time someones brake lights (1,000 yards ahead) came on. Hands down the worst back seat driver phenomenon I've ever witnessed. Nowdays she's much more laid back. This mostly due to the extreme velocities I always find myself driving the Mini (Insert Sht eatin grin).
Two weeks ago we made the trip to the Redwood National Park (about 4.5 hours in the Mini). Long days with one night in a hotel. It rained all the way up, but cleared as soon as we got to the hotel. My daughter Arianna couldn't wait to hit the hotel hot-tub. Sunday we hit the park and Jesus, them trees are tall. (Hey are we able to post pictures in here somewhere?).
We hit one area (Lady Bird Jhonson Grove) that had to be the quietest place I've ever been in the world. Not a single freakin sound at all. My wife and daughter are a little less impressed with the trees than I, but We all had a blast.
Work is still just that, but weekends are mostly free now. Still hitting up the wineries (Kendall Jackson, Woodbridge, Gallo) with the occasional side trip to the Pepsi plants. I'm kinda specializing in bottling line throughput. I can usually bump line efficiencies a solid 15%. At 500 (750ml) bottles a minute, it doesn't take them long to make their money back (about 3,000 extra case per shift, permanently).
I've let my TLCA membership expire. Who do I need to contact nowadays?
Chef are you still TLCA Prez?
Are you guys coming out for Rubithon 06?
What the heck are you all driving these days?
