New Avatar Pain

I reference a URL for my avatar, so it takes up no space for you, and though it's not 100x100 pixels, the old site I believe scaled the image nonetheless. Can you turn off image size restrictions? I can understand limiting the on-site bytecount storage for avatars, but if I'm linking and don't incur you any bandwidth other than an <img> tag, please remove the 100x100 restriction? Is that possible?

the forum doesnt' allow external avatars, period. Bummer too, cause I had a kewl php script that rotated mine.

100x100 is in place cause any larger shoves the columns around. That's the limit.
