so i picked up another fzj80 that was for sale out of vernon. turns out it came from here before then. locked, 243,000 miles and in much cleaner condition than mine. turns out the original owner wasn't a soccer mom but she was a hockey wife. the fellow i bought it from drove it 8k in three years, baselined the daylights out of it and lavished it with oem parts. i can't find anything it needs other than a cdl button, a tcase speedo sensor o-ring and a factory hitch.

it is our official winter ski race truck to give the old girl a rest from the rust.

and yes it is locked. it does need attention there as the cdl switch won't activate in 4-lo which in turn prevents the front and rears from locking. i will see if the cdl button fixes this since it will save me doing a 7 pin mod.

You DOG.......

Nice.

Mine did the same it was the 4lo sensor on mine that was gummed up from lack of use. Once I got that working I could hear the CDL engaging but still no light on dash I then changed the CDL position sensor and it all works as it should now. Front and rear lockers worked fine as well after I got the CDL sorted out.

the 4lo sensor seems to have freed up yesterday after i went into 4 lo for an extended period going downhill in some snow. i can hear the cdl relay clicking anyway. not sure if the diff is locking as it was so slippery. i'll try again after work.

i just need to pull the cdl sensor and see if i can clean it. i have a replacement on order in case it is unfixable. i got it on amazon of all places for $25 shipped to canuckistan.

by the way, does anyone know where i might source an 80 rear hitch receiver? shipping is going to kill buying out of the us.

Yeah mine just needed a run in 4lo, the CDL sensor never freed up I got a new one from Lordco for $25 and it was in stock. If you put the key in the on position and get under the truck by the t case have some one put it in 4lo, you should hear the motor run for 2-3 sec.

 i made the mistake of calling napa and getting an $80 quote, and then giving up on canada.

You mean the whole class III frame mounted reciever hitch they came stock with?

If so, I'm sure we can reach an agreement;).

i do mean that. mine came with no roofrack or hitch so the port guys were slacking.

if you have one to spare i'll definitely make you a deal...

I truly don't see mine ever going back on my truck, so make me an offer.

My buddy has a 96 that was a "special order=less option"

no roof rack
cloth manual seats
no running boards with nice front mudflaps

less is more when age starts to kill the luxury bits.

trade you something cool or random extra parts?

-canvas green fj cruiser tool bag?
-fj cruiser multitool?
-canvas green fj cruiser binder cover?
-rear fzj80 power window switch
-fzj80 rear window rubber run nib?
-24 pack of penticton's finest (cannery brewing)?
-8" kenwood subwoofer and a couple of amps?

Do you have the hitch yet? If not I think I still have mine and I am almost close enough to walk

i have not touched base with marlin yet. if you are that close shoot me a pm :D
