I am looking for basically a light bar/bull bar for a 96 4 runner that isnt cheesy like the westin type stuff. I want it to come up to bout the hood or at least mid grill... I looked at ARB they dont make one for my rig. I pretty much am hoping to save my radiator if I or my wife smack a deer. so I want it to be solid. Any suggestions?

The standard aftermarket light bars aren't going to help much if you hit anything. They tend to bend backwards and create more damage, especially is they have the sides for light protection.

Scotty makes great stuff. If you want something more plated like an ARB, I'm sure he make you whatever you want.

it would help to know the year and make of your truck, this is the 95+ Trucks section inferring Tacomas, Hilux and Tundras, all of which ARB makes a bar for.

looks like from previous posts you have a '96 4Runner, ARB used to make one, you may try to find one used.

that or hook up with a local fab shop.

Id call arb and check.. Im pretty sure they make for the tacos will fit the 3rd gens if you change the mounting brackets. Personally Id check out addicted offroad, they make some sick bumpers and are a little easier on the wallet then arb. Whatever you do, make sure we see some pics after the install..

Another idea, I've seen a few guys just put a brush guard on and take the sides(over the headlights) off, which doesnt look bad either- tho i have no idea how strong they are..
