I just got the family land cruiser after having an old mercedes and then a 72 C10 which both have left me stranded at least 3 times in 2 months. I was gonna buy LC from my dad before I go to college but he went ahead and let me have it because I needed something more reliable.

Right now it has Michelin LTX tires on the rear with about 20% tread left and fairly new Open Countrys on the front. Theyre both P275/70R16. I wanted to switch to 285s with BFG ATs and eventually put on new shocks and springs within a year that would lift it. Would that size rub with the stock height? Im not sure how funky it would look as far as proportations.

Thanks,

Miles.

285/75-16 tires will fit on yopur stock rig with no rubbing.

Ill do that then. Thank you!

You're welcome!

This isn't a great shot, but here's my buddy's bone stock 80 with 285/75-16 Goodyear Duratracs on stock wheels:

That looks great. I'll stick with that size and maybe get the General Grabbers at2. Thank you so much! The picture helped a bunch.

Horrible tread life, and I had 3 out of the 4 I bought seperate. 3 blowouts going down the highway. Leaves a bad taste......
