I just purchased a '97 Land Cruiser with 88K miles and am looking for a good independent mechanic (or dealership) to service my truck. I love the truck so far, but it has a bad leak around the passenger side A pillar (probably sunroof drain tubes from reading old posts) and a lot of shimmy in the front under hard braking. I also just want to get it checked over in general. I don't have any records for it, but I do know it was sold by a Toyota dealer as a Certified vehicle at some point. Any advice on who to go to for work would be appreciated.

Thanks,
Chris

Hi Chris,

Welcome for the forum. I'm not familiar with any cruiser mechanic as I haven't needed any major work done on mine. You can try emailing the Lone Star Landcruiser Club mailing list for recommendations.

I am hosting a birfield repacking party at my house on Nov 13. See invitation

Chris,

Some folks love to work on their trucks and some prefer to have the work done. Nothing wrong with either view, but either way, you should really look into the LSLC club mentioned by 97 FZJ80 above. They are a super bunch of guys and will help as many folks as they can. The members there can also give great recommendations on who to deal with and who to avoid.
