To those of you who have access to Lexus part numbers, I need some information. I bought a steering wheel for my 99 LX that was, allegedly, for a 2000-up LX (you know, the one with the wood inserts); however, when I tried to put it on, it mounts differently than mine. Accordingly, I presume it's for a different model, and I wanted someone to run this part number to see what it really fits. The Lexus part number appears to be 45103-30240 (B1)...Does this look like a Lexus part number? If it's not, can anyone tell me how I might identify this wheel?

Thanks!

I think you can look up the part number here:

someplace I have a LX 470 parts book.......I'll see if I can find it.

my book is for 98-99

wheel assy steering
45100-60310-BO 4 spoke, shadow gray trim 1

same
45100-60310-EO 4 spoke Oak trim4

while neither of those are what your looking for, I would say your is a lexus part # but could be other than the LX470

I work for lexus , i am off on monday but would be happy to run that # on teusday .

It must be the wrong part becuase i did a direct swap from my 99' leather wheel to the newer 00' to 02' wood wheel and it fit perfectly. It may be from an 03' and up....they are different.

Yeah, this is obviously for a different year or maybe a different car altogether. I bought this one on eBay as an '01 - up LX470 wheel, but when I tried to put it on, it wouldn't fit. "Surprisingly," when I tried to contact the seller about it, he was no longer registered with eBay and didn't have an e-mail on the system........basically, I'm now just trying to find out what car this wheel DOES fit so I can put it back on eBay.

Thanks.

Dnp , off work and this is what i found 1) the 3 in 45003 - is not a good # all lexus wheels are 45100- . so i crossed it with our toyota database and still no good , 2) the last # s in the string tell what it fits. a lx wheel would be 45100-60380-bo for a wood wheel in 99 . All the lx have a 6 in the first part of the last set of numbers .
I looked and none of the lexus wheels have a 3 in the first string for any model .
The 3 in the second set of numbers is usually a ES300 , or a GS 300/400/430. but no luck there .
Then i got trickey and looked in my stash at home and found a lx wheel that i plan to use on my 55 , the box said it was a 45100-60380 , in the same stack i found some wheels that have 45100-50102 on the box , I put the known good lx wheel next to the other # and they are different !!
Then the trickey part!!! stamped on the 45100-50102 wheel is the # 45103-30240/b1 .
so to make a long story short the wheel you have fits a ls430 02-05 by the number on the box that mine is in .
Hope this helps

i bought this wheel ? ?

I picked up this wheel, was supposed to be for 1998 - 2000 LS400 and is supposed be the same as the 1999 LX470.

THe metal frame does looks identical to my LX470s ?.

Take a look at the part of the wheel that I circled in red, I notice this part is different on the 2002-2005 LS430, its has a different shape.

What does yours look like ?

The part number on the left hand side of wheel says 45103 30240 B1
like yours does but when I compare the circled part to a 02-05 LS430 wheel on EBAY,
the metal frame looks different.

I think the wheel with serial 45103 30240 B1 is actually for 1998 - 2000 LS400 sedan like this one:

Thanks FJ55-100 and EOS! Y'all really went to a lot of trouble, and I appreciate it! Looks like I have a wheel I can't use, so it's off to eBay it goes!

Thanks again for the help!

OK, after reading all of this again, I'm really pretty confused. Bottom line is: the new-to-me wheel I have is like the one in this picture and the one on the eBay auction. Accordingly, am I understanding correctly that this is for a 1998-2000 LS400? I think that's what I'm understanding you to say.....it definitely doesn't look like the wheel in your second post.......that begs the question: what was it that FJ55-100 found in his inventory? And which one is correct?

my inventory stands a good chance of being put back in the wrong box as i compare stuff , one of the ones i have is off a ls430 by the name on the box . but the wood wheel stack is large and stuff gits moved around ,.
The part # info is accurate .any second string # with a 5 belongs to a Ls group.
the number stamped on any toyota product is more than likeley to be different than the number that shows what it fits and what group . From what we were told the number that is on the part itself is the vendors code string and contains the data for the world market where the same part may fit a Prado/ or altezza . but here fit a Gx .
then is re boxed to the usa fit and sold to either toyota /lexus . I have orderd a different # for a toyota part and one for a lexus but the identical part was in bolth boxes .
Now that i have confused you even further . post a pic of yor wheel and i will post one of the same wheel bolted to the car that it fits on . I see 70 lexus a day and one will be a match for yours .

Sorry for my delay in replying. I thought I had already sent a photo on this, only to discover that I had not......again, sorry.

Below is a photo of the wheel I have, along with a photo of the part number on it. If anyone can help me determine which whhel I have, it would be greatly appreciated!

Oh well, I tried to post photos of "viewable" size, but the ones that were large enough wouldn't upload, and those that were small enough, can't be seen on this forum. Therefore, if you need additional information, please e-mail me at dnpcorp@bellsouth.net, and I'll e-mail photos to you.

Thanks
