This may seem like a screwy question but I need some information. After replacing the frame on my 3rd gen 2wd 4runner I notice that the body mount brackets that are welded to the frame are a little different than on the original frame.

On the new frame the difference is that the pad the body sits on where the bolt goes thru are bolted to the bracket that is welded to the frame.

On the old frame there is just a piece of rubber that sits on top of the bracket that is welded to the frame where the bolt goes thru.

I wonder if the frame I got may of been from a 4wd 4runner and the body mounting is different.

My question is, would one of you that has a 4wd 4runner look at the body mount just behind the front wheel and see if it looks like one of the two descriptions above and report back?
Thanks
John

John.. here is a pic of my 96 4x4...no bolts that I can see.
What year is your vehicle and new frame donor vehicle year? oops now that I saw the "new to mud" thread below..a 99 and I see the frame... quite an ambitious project!

Mine is a 99 model, I don't know the year of the replacement. I guess I could do a carfax on the vin# on the frame. My original mount looked just like the pict you posted, so it doesn't seem to be a 4wd verses 2wd issue. Maybe it is more related to the year model. The problem is that it doesn't look like I can use my original mounting hardware. One more piece of my puzzle to figure out. Thanks for the photo.

another from below...sorry i didn't really help:frown:
