I took my 55 to the mechanics today for it's roadworthy inspection, i'll get it back tommorow and find out what needs to be fixed for it to pass roadworthy and then i can get it registered within a week or so. Then i can finally start driving it YAAAY :D :D

Awesome - let us know the results.

Got her back today, i was quite relieved when i saw the list of things i need to fix.
LP-Gas cap missing, rear seat belts under seat, need 4 new tyres (which i have), adjust front wheel bearings, LP-Gas line insecure at firewall, LP-Gas guage wire jammed in cover, oil leak at front timing case seal, which will be a bit tricky but not within my means.
I should have all this done pretty quickly and within a week and a bit I expect to have it registered, now I just need to call the previous owner and get a receipt for the proof of purchase at registration time.

I went to this little spot just off the road on my way home today.

Hey, they missed one! Move steering wheel to left side of vehicle;p

Finished it all off without any problems and took it back to the mechanics today, it passed it's inspection easily, so now i'll book the registration for monday the 29th of may, it would've been this monday coming but i have to pay 2 phone bills, damn it.
I'm amazed at how many weird looks i get from people while i'm driving this thing, i also got a wave from a fella driving a 55 this morning, :D i love it, certainly more attention grabbing and style than my 2wd mitsubishi wagon
also for few minutes this arvo i was stuck next to a pig truck and i was worried my piggie would get urinated on but i thought to myself why worry, they're practically brothers they'd prefer to pee on jeeps or convertibles :D

Are there a lot of 55's in your neck of the woods?

It depends what you'd call many, obviously there's not as many as there are 40's etc. in my town of probably 90,000 people i know of atleast 8 55's that i've seen driving around/parked , obviously there'd be more that i haven't seen too.

My 55 is now registered YAAY :D

Just discovered a few little things that need to be sorted out so i'll get on to them soon, oh and time for some wheelin'

cheers guys, dan

Congrats! Keep us updated on your progress.
