There is none. You can do a complex switched override if you really want, but so far there is none.

If you research it a bit, you can burn a custom 7.x DVDR-DL with the loading.kwl file from a 5.x disc and get the override option back, but this is kinda a PITA.

yea i read on the toyota forum about that. i can not find that .kwl file do you know where i could find it?

Has anyone disconnected the switch from the emergency brake, so your passenger can watch movies on the nav. screen? Also, has anyone fixed there nav. so your passenger can use it while driving?

Short answer is no and no. I'd say it's impossible at this point.

Many have tried on all Toyota's and Lexus vehicles, however there is no "easy" solution.

One was is to extract a specific file from a version 5.x disc and create a new 7.2 disc using this file. Then you can use the override option within the hidden menu. This only solves the latter of your question.

Grounding the parking brake wire is an old school hack and will not work with newer/smarter/PITA navi's.

One guy did it, but he had to disconnect the signal from the GPS using a switch box. I have enough problem with my navi as it is...I wouldn't touch it (imagine explaining what that box does to Toyota for warranty service).

It's very annoying having to pull over to enter destinations. In fact, users have gotten tickets for doing so on a highway (which is illegal) and have sued Toyota. I believe one guy got Toyota to reimburse the cost of the navi unit + the ticket and insurance increase.

Sorry, this answer didn't help -- but now you know :)
