Check both the transmission and the t-case gear oil levels. If you didn't replace the RMS when you had the pan off ...it could be possible that motor oil is getting back there when you drive. But motor oil will be most prevalent on the bell housing inspection cover at the rubber plug and at the fork boot.

Everything below the under side of the truck has been cleaned and is bone dry including the drive shaft and tcase. Filled to the right level. At this point I am thinking it must be weeping from the rear heater hose.

Thinking I’ll replace them with regular rubber coolant hoses and see if that does it.

Also, did a small fix on a crimped air system hose under the hood.

I've done a lot since updating, but, have run into a brake issue I'm looking for advice on.

Long story short, complete loss of brakes on a freeway exit nearly killed me. Managed to pull over safely and after recovering for five minutes the brakes came back. No loss of fluid or visible issues. First, I'm looking for ideas. Second, advice on my approach going forward considering I know I also need to rebuild the knuckles.

Could be the booster or the MC. It seems odd that it would be gone one min then fine the next.

Have you drained /topped off the brake fluid?

Received all of the parts to do the brakes, knuckles and bearings. Hopefully will start in on that this weekend. Unfortunately I didn;t notice this before but it looks like my front drive shaft has sprung a leak.

Two questions for your guys:

Could a shaky drive shaft have caused the temporary no-brakey problem?

Does this mean I need to source a new front drive shaft?

Thanks

For the window felts, it took me quite a while to figure out how the new style attaches to the trim and then the door itself. Different then the existing original ones, that's for sure. Here are some close up photos in case someone else is out there struggling with this. Makes a big difference in sealing things up!

Now for the big job, knuckle rebuild + brakes. While in there I put on steel brake lines all around, new rotors + calipers, as well as a backing eliminator kit and new brake master cylinder. Also made a fun discovery of a previously stripped caliper bolt so I had a bit of a diversion fixing that with heli coil. Fun times!

I think the one with all of the parts removed in order on the ground is my favorite photo. This is the only way I know how to keep everything straight.
