A friend who made a killer bumper for trucks & other off road vehicles, Paul Rickard, had a little German made chop saw that was a beautiful machine. Very precise. Carbide blade and it seems from my memory almost every part of it was machined rather than metal stamped. Had an integrated coolant system too. Think it ran on 220 and might have even been 3 phase. Anyone have an idea of what it was??

Hand held or bench mount? Do you remember the color? There is a German company who makes high end woodworking tools. They are handheld. The name escapes me right now.

When you start talking 220 3-phase I'm thinking it is bolted to the floor.

Are you thinking of Fein, they are orange.

Yeah, I knew it was a cold cut saw and for some reason left it out of the post. And thanks, 2mbb, I think it is the Haberle brand. I say one thing, when Paul cut that piece for my truck bumper it was very nicely finished. And only about 100 times more quiet than my carbide blade chop saw. I'm afraid to check into the Haberle to see how much they cost. :)

Hmmm, spendy aren't they? LOL. Not even up to middle level Haberle is $4,278. O.K., curiosity satisfied.

Wow, nice saws...........lots of money

I will stick with my horizontal bandsaw, although they are slower.
