Daily Driver, if I roll I'm screwed...that's the one. I would like to get one of those, but it would be a lie since I have the Honda now. We should hit some trails up here sometime. You could do the stuff I know of with ease up here towards blacksburg.

eh it might be a lie for me too, i might bet getting a jetta.......good gas milage. but for now i got the rover, im trying to keep it alive as long as possible:grinpimp:

Umm, yeah, I've been on Bobcat a time or two

I've been in Blacksburg for 6.5 years now, and I've been 'wheelin since day 1. I've probably wheeled bobcat 100 times. The top is all "mud puddles" but there are some very interesting technical sections along the way and there is a new optional trail that is pretty intense.

BTW, I do wheel the piss out of my stock FZJ80, just ask alkaline.

BTW #2, Alkaline, where you been man? We need to go 'wheelin. And I still need my $10 :flipoff2:

Dr Frankenstein, we have a 'wheelin club here at tech that from time to time has been home to a number of Radford folks. Hit me up with a PM if you're interested in coming to a meeting sometime. Or you can check out our forum at www.sc4wda.org.vt.edu/forums

Bobcat is a bunch of puddles. Ive had some good times out there stockish, but i think id be asleep at the wheel now.

You'd be suprised... it's getting washed out a lot. A little rain and it'll deny anything opened. It's changed a lot in the last 6 months

full bodied is getting tricky as well...

If you're tires don't come out past the fenders the body will rub here... there's a little step in the rut that eats 33s and smaller... dry is ok... wet is tough

Drive into the bank making the deep part of the rut in the middle of your axles. It wont rub anything then. Is that one of those new clear hoods I have been hearing about?

yeah i always straddle that part, depending on how you do it that can be a fun place to flex too, my favorit part is the hill climb after that with the tree in the middle about halfway up

That is a fun spot, i went out one night after it rained a little bit and my truck wouldnt go into 4wd. I decided to run it anyways (locked in the rear) and it was fun as hell trying to make it up, lots of full throttle action.

BTW, you could just swing wide left in the pic too chris :flipoff2:.

The hillclimb you are talking about is commonly referred to as root hill.

It is one of the more challenging sections of bobcat, especially for a SWB vehicle. I can do it when it's dry in the 80, but at times have to lock in the rear diff.

I'm thinking about going and running the new optional trail at around 2pm today, if any of you are interested in going.

I post one picture to show the trail has changed a bunch over the last year of me trying to worry my buddy's g/f (who was behind the wheel while I was taking pictures) and I get a driving lesson? :flipoff2:

Two questions:
1. How can you tell that I need help behind the wheel from a picture of someone else driving (seriously what gave me away? I'm "that guy" and no one but the people there can believe I broke what I did or got stuck where I did)

2. How come Ary posts dozens of pictures and gets two comments while everyone else makes fun of me? :flipoff2: I'm going back to teh 60 series section where my truck's disassembled in driveway... much safer :flipoff2:

Yes, hood is custom. Trying to fix an over heating issue, which this ride suggested was a bad guage then later turned into mulitple over heating problems while blowing off a lower radiator hose...

Chris

The forest service made some sweet jump on the top of bobcat at the end of the summer. So the upper part is not quite so boring anymore.:grinpimp:

The lower part is pretty nasty when everything is wet. I know there have been a couple flops.
