Cancruiser, what were you're reasons for installing this and what was the outcome?

I've been looking at one for my smoke issues.

Thanks

This particular one is commonly used in diesel VW, Audi, Jeeps etc..and seems to have good reviews.
I have been using a make-shift system (using one of those clear plastic fuel filters) and it is not really up to par so I thought of getting the real thing instead. Let's see how it works (I just installed it today).

With the old system, I have been collecting about a tablespoonful inside the filter between oil changes. But, I am sure more oil ended up in my turbo (tell tale of oil around the turbo air intake hose)

Maybe too late now (the truck has close to 200,000 kms) but better now than never..

I will report in a few thou to let you know how it works and how much it collected..

Thanks, what was your main reason for doing this though?

Great, keep me posted as those are the same reasons I'm considering it. Where did you source it?

Plumbed up Brovent(tm) style.

Yeah, I figured I would try it like that for a few kms and if I ran into problems I could always swap the in/out hoses.

So far, did 50 kms and no problems. I put a section of clear hose at the air intake and oil drain to see if things go where they are supposed to go or not! Fingers crossed..

I plumbed mine in the same location, but used well-nuts.

Today I checked my air intake after 8k km's and it was bone dry. I emptied about a quarter of a small tim hortons cup from the clear catch hose.

I'm satisfied it's working properly. Hope that helps.

With that little captured (~50cc after 8,000km) why did you bother?

Here is my turbo compressor outlet after the Brovent(tm) mods. With the stock provent this turbo was literally swimming in oil. With the original air/oil seperator it was just a light film.
