Hello in California,

My name is Seamus Dooley and I had the pleasure of being great friends with Butch and Sharon Lewis from 1991 to 2000 when I moved back home to Ireland after residing 15 years in California. I met Butch on Highway 29 one day when he drove a Suzuki Samurai as I did, prior to him downgrading to Land Cruisers. (Joke). I spent many wonderful evenings with them at their home and we shared a few weekends on the Rubicon.
After moving home to Ireland, I was shocked to learn of Butch passing and I was lucky enough to track down Sharon in Los Angeles, where she had moved. I have since lost contact with Sharon and I am aware that she was battling with her illness. Does anybody have any details here to help me locate her, or give me an update.
For those of us lucky enough to know Sharon and Butch, they were through friends and genuine people.
Thank you for any asssitance you can offer, I will know jump in my Defender 110 and drive to work on the cold wet Irish roads wishing on was on the hot sunny Rubicon Trail with dear old Butch.

Hi Seamus...

Butch was a good friend, a true land cruiser god when it came to fabrication and bleeding edge technology, and a very proud man. He is still missed to this day. We are better for having known him and he brought a lot our club at the time.

hello Georg

We were both lucky to have a friendship with Butch. Many a great evening I spent at his house with him and Sharon, do you know of anyone who kept in contact with Sharon.

Hey Seamus!
The last I hear Shannon was living in Bakersfield CA and was possibly married again. I know for a fact that she's doing much better physically. After Butch passed she moved south and received great medical care which really turned her health around. I guess things kept improving. But I haven't talked to her in a few years.

Reviving an old thread......

Butch was also a great friend of mine...

Two weeks before he passed, he was sitting in his lawn chair in the shop driveway sipping his customary Dr. Pepper while I was under my 40 Series swapping out my stock 3 speed for the SM465.... He gave me directions from memory as I worked.... He had a sly grin on his face as Tom Waits played in the shop...

Then, I was driving my daughter to Oregon for school.... And found out on the way home that he has passed and the memorial service had already taken place...... Rough day for my wife and me...

I miss both him and Sharon :-/
