my lx dash lights out?

so on my stereo all the lights work fine when the headlights are on except for the Cd and the Tape button there both completly black. whats the deal? is there anything i can do?
has any one else have this problem?

Do you have a cd or tape in the deck? Mine stay black until it sees a tape or cd, then it lights them up as an option of source input.

i have a 6 cd changer and even with it in i doesnt light up same with the tape.
can that burn out or no?

Yes, they can 'burn out'. You have the Pioneer head unit, I assume. All my controls light up (CD / TAPE ), with headlights on, independent of the 'source'.

That unit, IMO, is not worth repairing.
