My speedo doesnt work. Currently i just use my GPS app on my phone for speed and distance. B4 having access to GPS, I'd use the mile markers on the interstate. Note the odometer reading and travel 10 miles per mile markers and note the odometer again. Then do the math for an adjustment factor.

How did the Bluetooth end up sounding?

Speakers make a difference so let me know how those kickers sound. I haven’t heard them before.

Also, you may want to check out exciter style speakers. They go anywhere, don’t require a box, and can be completely hidden. Only trick is finding the right surface to mount to. They literally turn whatever they are mounted to into the speaker.

Most people use insulation foam sheets for home use. But I’ve seen people use wood, spray foam, glove box, firewall, rollbar and just about everything in between with varying degrees of success.

That is A LOT of work to figure out how slow you are going

If you don't mind altering your cluster I did a GPS speedometer

I don’t know if he’s still doing them , but @Biscuit was making decals for the speedo faceplate that had different markings to compensate for rubber overdrive etc. Doesn’t help with the odometer being off, but seems like a pretty handy solution for keeping the speedometer useful. (Edit: I ran a search; doesn't look like he's doing them any more )

And FWIW, I try to put 150+ miles on a rig before attempting to calculate MPG. Whatever is going to average out has averaged out by then.

This is that classic "marshmallow challenge" on 4-year-olds if ever there was one.

I soooo need to complete the others items before I start on this. This was a premature purchase due to him stepping out.

1) Full tire and cooler Carrier with the yeti 50 basket & powder coat
2) Front bumper for the 8274 with the added powder coat. (that is a long term purchase - but wanted it while still available - I have his other bumper on there now. )
3) D-Ring Shackles
4) seat brackets he posted on one of Nolan's thread

I have his flip kit too - after I get all the engine dialed in - leaks resolved - down to 2 leaks (new leak at front diff plug) - my goal is the axels and suspension, body mounts.

I will get the tire carrier on first - I dislike the current one - but that might not be until December- the agony.

And just enjoy driving it around... my friend in KC is wanting to do a trip to Tuttle Creek (in KS) to do some wheeling with our cruisers. Starting to pencil in some times.

:popcorn: :bounce::beer:

I have the Side Steps and a set of the Jump Seat fold down legs inbound. Finger poised on the rear tire carrier wBasket “Send it now button”.

My LC= Time + $$$ equation is bumping off of the $$$ end of the decision process. Hoping I can slide another month in order to reward myself for YODA deeds past and present.

Agreed. what is the hold up

I don’t want to question his sincerity but, It’s been over an hour. This is looking like a blatant taunt.

l’ m certain “taunting” is not allowed on a ”40” thread. You might get away with it in the “Camp Fire Cuisine” section, but not here. We have rules..😁

I will part with it when ready ;) - the 8274 is a bougie/bling thing right now and low on the priority $$$ list for a look I like (setting expectations and will let you know since you asked first) - I'm still at meat and potatoes stage (except bite the bullet and splurge to purchase from 4Plus and set it aside) and no dessert. I need a winch for when we (the flatlander LC group here) plow through snow and get stuck, maybe mud now that the crops are out on the farm- lots of coyotes this year picking off livestock and town pets in daylight that will be getting attention from several folks around here. (I had to alter my walk several times from them trying to circle behind me) - else I'd part with it now.

Trying to give the wallet a breather and recover.

It is, lets be real. My philosophy is break the rules, so you understand why they are there in the first place.

I want to come out and see the Mule 2.0 when your ready (will buy first round from all my taunting). Your $$$ and @Jdc1's work will be a deadly combination = a masterpiece. I enjoy your thread!

Just for you two (@Chungas Revenge & @mtn biker) I will take one off the pallet per-day like an advent calendar - and drink my yuppy brew with the FJ40 on it and only post picts of the wrapping still on.

Edited for some grammar - coffee has not done its magic yet.

@thecrazygreek - sorry got into the banter that I pushed this off a few...

I think I will check out some other speakers - the kickers are ok - I'm not expecting HIFI - was hoping they had a bit more deep sounds, they don't even after adjusting the equalizer setting on phone - (oddly enough, my hearing loss is at the higher pitches per my audiologist = for example, I apparently have a hard time hearing a woman's voice... 🤔). Happy I only paid ~ $30 for the open box. Bottom line not convinced this is the right speakers for me or to refer Kickers to other 40 owners with this setup - but for $30, it works and I enjoy music or @mtn biker's podcasts as I try to pass the tractor mowing ditch-weed on the side of the road.

One thing I do like about this/location - the sound is as if coming up out the defrost vents - it does overcome most the rattles - really the sounds at higher speeds is why I turn it up. I don't want to cut a door card etc. I do think from time-to-time will have doors, side members off, someplace where it will always have a home is the goal.

Love how its a subtle knob!!! - I thank you for your time and efforts developing it - would buy it again if I had another need, and totally recommend it if yo want a minimalist look.

True to my word of occasionally opening one item from 4Plus in my made-up Cruiser Advent Calendar..... (and starting to rewrite the holiday classic poem - farm style - will post along the way) - it is a D-ring shackle for the front bumper -

Twas the night before Christmas, and all through the barn,
Not a creature was cussin', not even a darn.

Today - thought I’d do my best imitation of Mr. Miyagi on the Rig for the fist time. Fluid film to follow before snowfall.

Took a few layers off (rig was washed prior - did some cleaning with CLR per the patina thread started by Nolan)

Can see where I missed after first pass…

Decided that was enough and set out to dive to the big City for a haircut. Miles on, shakedown/break-in continues. Other things to do can wait.

The big city haircut place has a bar - a cut comes with one starter cocktail- got a Rye Manhattan-

So here is a toast the the Veterans out there! Cheers and Thx.

(Will head back to bake and cook as Saturday my town hosting a breakfast for Vets and their family at the fire station - making cinnamon rolls tonight and a few sausage/potato/cheese casseroles early am)

It's been a while.

Today and Saturday are Cruiser days now that I'm back in town - will post picts and/or descriptions with what I get done. Will say today will be some of that 4Plus pallet I got a few weeks ago.

My right blinker went out (hate electrical). I thought it was the front right as it was a problem before. One of the three wires has no power so will need to trace that back some day. Spliced the green&black/white wires to the one green power and front is fine. Short story long, was the rear bulb. See vide if you care. When I push the bulb in, it starts working. Lots of corrosion on bulb and socket. Put Deoxit on it. It helped, it blinks more often than not. Need to do more cleaning.

And more stuff came. Since I blew the budget on the 4Plus, doing some smaller purchases over time.
Front Dobinsons springs and pin with the sale last month.

And got these sweet jumper cables this week from @Fourrunner that goes with the winch quick connects he sells. Thanks. I going to change my headlights then get all these cables set. Going to see if I can make a bracket to hold the the quick connects. It is tight behind the radiator overflow bottle.
