I am using this for break in. (Lucas Break In oil SAE 30) for the first 500 miles.

Then contemplating of using this oil moving (Driven Racing Oil GP-1 Synthetic Blend) forward since it has a) higher zinc for flat tappet cams like 2fs have and b) from what I read is good if you don't have a catalytic converter - which I don't at this time. It cost, but if it helps the cam I'm good with that.

I've been pleased with the Driven Oil, plus 1 quart of Lucas Oil Stabilizer at each oil change. Also use Driven GL4 gear oil in transmission, transfer and differentials.

Thanks for the tip and I will take that as a recommendation! Noticed the front diff has a leak - will address that next with some Driven gear oil and a new gasket

Well - 60 over rings have arrived - and decided to pull some threads and go all out with the motor mounts cuz I am really tired of removing and installing engines. I figure if I surrender my wallet to the FJ40 deities, I will receive favor.

Parts for the motor mounts.... and a main seal

I'll update with stuff that makes you go huh. - wiped out.

Got the 4Plus bumper on - OEM license plate holder (had to drill holes out wider to make it work -) adjusted clutch etc.

Here is the first start video last night.

What's the yellow stuff?
Light yellow or more amber yellow (one pictured last night).

Beer is called Wanderer - like it on several levels. Got it last month when I was traveling in New England for work and thought it would be a great way to christen thine vessel. I think they have 4 varieties - could only get two in my suitcase as I had secured others too.

The yellow is unfiltered Hells lager - the amber one is dry-hopped hells lager. From MA.

that sounded really good

Thanks Dan! - It sounds way better live - it purrs - I can't believe how good it sounds.

I figure I will be spending time with the Carb to get the fast idle right and normal idle - Temps to plummet later this week and hold.

My goal right now is short trips (did a ton of starts, let it warm, turn it off as per Mark (@65swb45) earlier in the thread - Thanks!) - I have break in oil - it isn't multi-weight - want to do an oil change around 500 miles - and get multi-weight in with the lower temps on these cold blooded Rigs. (My friend in KC said if I can start Ketchup and drive away in less than 2 minutes from a cold start, I can keep it).

No picts. What I am finding driving around....

trying to get the idle set right - when driving for a bit Monday and come to a stop, it wants to die - tap accelerator a time or two seemed to help - I stopped half way and increased the idle some and finished drive. When I got home, seemed to be too high of RPM and turn it back as it was before I started. Rinse and repeat.

What I noticed yesterday (Tuesday) - when driving for 20 minutes or so and then at stop - would stumble when I would take foot off break. Maybe brake booster vacuum issues screwing around with how it runs. Not every time - so that is the confusing part. Will figure out how to test that theory out better. - I ended up adjusting the idle some more when I got done for the day's drive.

Also discovered the speedo is way out of wack - on my drive to Omaha yesterday - decided to flip on the GPS on the phone to calc speed and compare to the meter. Meter said 62 on a long flat stretch and GPS said 73 - opps. So playing around with speeds and seeing where in the meter that resides.

Was able to gain speed going up a long hill - so that was impressive to me - not important, but impressive deviation from engine build #1.

Got 11 MPG the last two days. (and seeing if I can accelerate uphill doesn't help that number)

Working on replacing some weatherstrip around the ambulance doors - needs it. Will see how much I get done before tonights activities = Cookie and Beer Pairing at a brewery in Lincoln.

Going to experiment with tire pressure after reading @rkymtnflyfisher thread on tires and his experience. I have the KO2 as well (great in snow - and snow is in the weekend forecast), and they are at 32 psi -

Lastly to @Fourrunner - my friend loved the gift of the quick connect winch cables you made! He wondered if there is a way to have jumper cables that would quick connect to that too. I am putting it here vs a pm as other people might have an opinion they want to express. (post 146 in this thread for a pict). I'd be interested, yet for me, I would want something I could roll-up compact(ish) to store in the rig. The cables you use are great, but I don't know I could coil as compact as I would like for hauling around cables - maybe they can. Some feedback I wanted to convey.

25 psi was a major improvement over the 35ish they were at.
