My dog is having hip surgery today

My little Frankie (who is not so little anymore) is having the first of 2 triple pelvic osteotomies today. He has hip dyslpasia and they will go in and break his pelvis in three places, bend it to the correct angle, and then plate the breaks together with 3 plates and screws.

I haven't really started a thread in chat before, but it seems like Frankie could use some good thoughts today, so I thought I'd give it a shot. Thanks y'all.

I have seen many a German Shepherd with dysplasia, I have never seen the corrective surgery tho

Well, he's home and he's doing great. Already licked the stitches out of his a$$ and is trying to do more than he should. The other side gets done on Feb 6th.

Thanks to you all. I am sure that all the good will is helping! He is a sweet "little" guy. And he IS worth every penny! He's my cruiser dog...he likes to drive. And now that he's twice this size, I think he can actually reach the pedals!

When he get better bring in up to Canada, he is a real snow dog id love to see im in snow up to his ears up here.
