My average (HZJ73) is 7.8 k to the litre, measured over a total distance of more than 200000 k's.
That is including towing my camper trailer, off-road trips and daily driving.
Diesel fuel over here (Netherlands) at the moment is about 1.08 Euro per litre.
When I fill up it's generally around 70 to 75 liters and that's about 75 Euros = 120 AUSD

I'm a bit astonished about your LPG conversion. During my camper trip in aug/sept this year in Ozi (Cairns to Adelaide more or less following the east/south coast) I had to fill up the camper 18 times or so but I think I've seen only three or four LPG-pumps so I assumed LPG is not very widespread.
Most expensive I payed was almost 1.60 AUSD for diesel, in general it was somthing like 1.05.

LPG is widespread in the cities, outside metropolitan areas it begins to get more scarce. Hence why I have gone diesel for outback trips. My BJ74 is averaging 10.8L/100km Doing about 650km to $80.00. Have just started recording fuel figures though. Cost is about $5.00 more per week than my FJ73 which is on LPG too, gets about 24L/100km though.
