I performed my first major land cruiser surgery today by myself.. For many of you no big deal but I'm not a mechanic. Although somewhat mechanical.
The 1F, tranny and TC are out of my 40. My only other experience in engine removal has been chevy 350's with leaving the auto transmission in the truck so this was my first time to remove everything together. It went better than I expected. I have not been that dirty in years.
Now I need to pull the bell housing from the engine and transmission to use with the new transmission. I guess I'll tackle that tomorrow night. After that some clean up and paint in the engine compartment. Then a trip to Bonham for a heart transplant.
I'm starting to get geeked up about the build. I felt very alive today.
Can't wait to drive my $700 POS.
