So I'm kinda obsessed with my new blaster.

Back side of flywheel (and no, of course I did not blast the pressure plate surface)

Bellhousing was blasted, cleaned with denatured alcohol, 3 coats of semi gloss black VHT paint, and filled up with 3 coats of VHT clear coat.

Driveshafts are finished, after getting the same treatment as the bellhousing.

New zerk fittings and Royal Purple Grease too.

Got bored. Painted the flywheel alignment/inspection indicators.

Needed a solution for holding bolts upright to blast the heads that didn't come out of the tumbler clean.

Used an old grill sauté pan. Worked perfectly.

Man, I've spent a ton of time getting these things perfectly clean. I can't wait to see what they look like when they come back from plating.

Finally got all my hardware prepped for cadmium plating. Woohoo. I would say I've got at least 50 hours in those alone.

Box came in at just under 48 lbs. Wow!

Nice looking head!

Spent the morning blasting the block. 150lbs of blasting media. Coated with high temp semi gloss black and high temp clear coat.

(If you are reading this now, the engine was eventually completely stripped down, disassembled, machined, and rebuilt by a professional shop a year or so after this post was originally made)

Blasted and painted the inspection cover. I just happened to have the right cadmium bolts in my shop to install it. Also had a few for the timing cover. I ordered a new timing cover gasket from @beno.

Decided I'd just get the inspection cover PC'd instead.

First batch of parts dropped off at the powdercoater.

I've been blasting the frame. About 2/3 of the way done. Booya.

Looking good! What size compressor are you driving the blaster with? It looks like it is doing a great job. When I considered getting a sandblaster, it seemed like I was going to need a pretty big compressor, so I had a guy come to my house and take care of it. Your rig looks like it was in pretty decent shape to start with.

Who is doing your plating?

Dropped the frame off at the powdercoater this afternoon. @wngrog let me borrow his trailer. Thanks dude!
