Disclaimer - I am not affiliated with Mutantco.com - or Waterbug, nor do I know this person.
He seems to live in Alaska - so do I - that's about it. Don't ask me questions about how to buy it or how he builds it - that information is possible to find on his website....barely. Really, email the guy at his yahoo account if you want more that can be figured out from this thread and his website.

I did some searching, I couldn't find this on IH8mud, in fact it's hard to find anything about this trailer online, even if you have the name of the trailer on a brochure in your hand like I did - his website is not great either, when you find it - www.mutantco.com - but his trailer is pretty neat. I saw it again at the Alaska State Fair and this year I remembered to hunt for it online.

Basically it's a utility trailer, big enough to carry an ATV, that also floats and operates as a boat. He has pictures and youtube of himself zooming around on step, and also of other "modes" - where pontoons come out, and it can carry the ATV on a lake. In Alaska, this means you can tow the ATV to a trailhead, tow the trailer with the ATV to a lake, and take the ATV on the trailer to a cabin somewhere on the lake - perhaps some rivers could be crossed this way as well - most rivers up here NOT - but maybe some yes.

He also has a tent that fits the flat platform as well. I'll borrow a pic or or two from his site since I forgot to take some yesterday.

On his website he shows a computer model of a car-carrier size version and claims it can carry a small car on the water. No pics.

Discuss :D

My M101 CDN is rated at 500 lbs in amphibious mode, i.e. the drain plugs are installed in the bed. The data plate says nothing about HP rating...:rimshot:

:D the M101 floats? I never knew. Seems like it would need a amphib jeep to tow it ?

I was amazed this thing can get on step - looks like a 25 or 35 hp outboard lol. I encourage all to take time to watch the video, slow as it is.

I like his tent - I want to make my flatbed flip out to hold my 6 man Eureka tent on it somehow :D

SNIP

I'd guess you would. But that's the way they rate them. The tow vehicle in this case was the Iltis, which I'm fairly certain wasn't amphib.

No way would you ever get a M101 on step. A motor big enough to do it would not be prudent...:skull:
