Hey guys, I drive a 1985 HJ-60. It has a quite "mushy ride" (ie...when I go over a bump in the road theres a little bouncing up and down for a couple of seconds. Do I need to redo the springs or does it sound like I just need shocks? Navcruiser

Definitely shocks, maybe springs. How does it sit, level? Any indication of broken leaves in the spring packs?

It sits as level as can be and has nothing broken underneath. If shocks as you suggest, what type can you recommend? Navcruiser

I went with the OME nitrochargers that were part of the package with my new springs, but I THINK I have heard that shocks are a reasonable price through Toyota dealers (anyone with better knowledge?) You could check with CruiserDan.

Yeh, I already changed my britches after an accident. That didn't seem to help so I guess I'm stuck in the muddle with you! Har har

I like KYB, used them on all of my cars. Not sure about them if you need to plus size though. And if you blow one out, THEY HAVE A LIFETIME WARRANTY!!! I have never needed to do this for an issue, just when they have gotten old and need replacement. Imagine the last set you will ever have to buy for your cruiser.
Rancho has a lifetime warranty too, but I am not a huge fan of these.
