We were lucky enough to be able to run 3N06 yesterday. The trail runs from Lytle Creek up to Mt Baldy Ski Resort. It's a closed to the public trail with a locked gate and probably always will be. My buddy works for USFS and has the key. We ran it as part of a 'adopt-a-trail' run. The trail runs up the edge of the mtn (yes many drop offs, not for faint of heart) and has plenty of scenic views.

Here are the pics..

Out numbered by all Jeeps! Airing down at the trailhead to Lytle Creek.

Our hosts for the day

Opening up the monster gate to 3n06

Locking the gate behind us

The 'top' of the ski resort i might add.

Yosh checking out the view

Im cracking up after ringing this huge bell (it was loud!)

Climbing up a loose section to another ski lift.

Found a small lift up at the top. Great view.

Can you find the cabin in this pic? (supposedly a sierra club cabin)

One of the ski runs LOL

Devils backbone (tons of hikers)

All the hikers were wondering how i made it up there with sandals on. Little did they know they'd see 10 rigs at the bottom of the trail

Coming back down 3n06, you really need to pay attention.

i have hiked to that cabin it is cool.

I grew up not far from there, in Alta Loma. Back when I was racing, I used to do the Baldy Hwy. from my house to the ski resort, then we'd hike up to the restaurant. I used to mountain bike that trail in summer and snowshoe it in winter. Now that I'm old and fat, I wish I could drive it.

[Sigh]

You're lucky, dude. That's awesome.

Right on Dave. Very cool to run a trial that is usually off limits.

I like the requisite Steve Irwin duds. :flipoff2:
