Hey I'm in seattle with a mother in law in spokane that has talked about the moyie mud bog in bonner's ferry. She's got a 69 cj-5 thats she has taken there and wants me to bring my 72 40 out. However she hasn't got any good details, since the two young daughters moved out of state. Anyone know anything?

She's told me mothers day weekend and 20$

I just want facts before I trailer my 40 from seattle to idaho.

What do you want to know? I haven't been, but have a bunch of friends that go yearly.

It's on private property just north of Moyie Springs, ID. There's lots of mud, folks getting stuck, fights, alcohol, etc.

I havent been either

I hear it is lots of fun. and Huge number of folks attend these days. tents and trailers etc.
I hear there is an acutal mudbog contest.
The folks I know that attend are Young and drink lots of beer.
and often come to work with black eyes smelling of boose.

That being said. Next year I plan on attending with 62 willys wagon. Not sure how long I will stay but will check it out.

I have friends that live up meadow creek road. If it dont pan out
I can always visit.

Moyie Mud bog is 2 miles north on Hwy 95 from bonners ferry and 4 miles east on Hwy 2. There are signs before you get there but just in case you go over the bridge after the town you've gone to far. Camping is everywhere. NO Glass, NO Dogs, NO 4 Wheelers, NO Motorbikes. Basically no ATV's of any kind, NO Fighting you will be tossed out for these violations. Its $20 for all three days. Bring your own Booze!
Bring your own seating. There are Bonfires Friday and Saturday. Anyone under 21 is not allowed into the Bonfire area after a certain time.
Pit Rules:
You get stuck 3 times your done.
There can be mud Dragging if you can get it together. There's hill climbs and some trails to go up. Not sure if they are going to do sand dragging this year or not.
Any other questions?

I have been to moyie several time and LOVE it I own a 81 K-5 Blazer that is now PINK. Everyyear gets a little better but if you are going for the mud go during the fall one. There are fewer people and lots more that just want to mud. The security has gotten a lot better over the years. It is worth the drive if you stay all weekend :)
