Hi guys,
I've just done a google search looking for a solution to this particular boggle:
Bought a pair of Motorola Talkabout T5509 handheld UHF CB radios. I cannot for the life of me work out how to get rid of the beeps every time you press a button. I was able to get rid of the "roger" beep, but I'm having trouble with the rest. Any assistance would be appreciated since the manual doesn't even mention them. While I'm at it, any way to turn off the backlight would be appreciated as well.
So why didn't I just put a CB in the 40? It's already got one - an old Uniden 27MHz job which I'd like to keep for the post-apocalyptic communications possibilities, clear channels and nostalgia. If I ever rip out my stereo and replace it with an Ipod touch hooked directly to an amp, then I'll put a UHF CB in the slot. The handheld jobbies are basically for close-range comms with truckies and other motorists if necessary.
