i just got a set of these radio's for christmas and was wondering if i can talk to the other members of my group talking on CB radio's providing that we are all on the same channel

There are times on club runs that we have a guest or a new member without a radio. We try to loan them a CB if possible. If not, we will loan them one of these FRS/GMRS handhelds so they can communicate with at least one other club member. Take your pair with you and ask someone to carry one of them and keep you in the communication loop.

A few years ago, a few members tried the FRS/GMRS radios to replace the CB radio but the results were dismal. Too little range... too low of volume... unwieldy to talk and listen on the handheld... short battery life. They have some uses though and can be handy around camp with the family.
