When I embarked on my journey to Monstaline my 98 Cruiser I could not find much information of 100 series owners who have Monstaline'd their trucks. Besides the obvious that most 100 series are still in good condition but mine had dents and scratches from previous years of wheeling.

I wanted to transition to a paint coating that was low maintenance in cleanup but was still durable which sparked my decision to Monstaline. Honestly, I was tired of buffing out brush marks on every outing I had, and I was not a big fan of the silver anyways. Since I was keeping this rig for a long time, I figured the only sane decision was to sand my whole car, tape it up and ML the whole damn thing.

Prep work is key! I've only seen one other ML'd 100. Are there any others hiding tthat have done a full color change or partial lower portion ML?

Thanks for the inspiration. I was following your other thread and I'd like to line mine from the molding down.

I like the sand color, much like the new Quicksand color Toyota is putting on TRD Pro Tacos, 4R and Tundras this year.

When I first applied it I thought I made a huge mistake because it was too yellow but after accenting everything I'm really happy with it. The color is Killer Beej from ML

I believe the color is "Häagen-Dazs Vanilla"...delicious

nice work man, I ended up using Raptor Liner, but it was 50/50 between that and the monstaliner.

How is the texture on the Raptor liner?

It's not near as smooth as yours, I guess just preference whether that's better or worse. It will definitely provide some road rash if you scrape yourself on it. (Ignore the damage multiplier, that's gone now)

That looks good. Did you do the whole Cruiser in black? Does it get hot?

thanks. Yeah it gets pretty hot in the dead of summer, but its in my garage at work or at home usually so not a big deal. Definitely noticable though.

Did the bottom of mine a while back. So far I like it. Scrapped it up on a trail and was able to touch it up without issue.

Did you just purchase a quart from ML? The good thing is that it can always be touched up again. The bad thing is that the pot life is only 8-10 hours so once you open it you can't save it for reuse down the road.

Originally bought a gallon, lots of waste. Used a quart kit for touch up, used the extra on my sons hood.

I saw this on the Monstaliner facebook page. I was wondering if you had gone over inside the door sills.
What does that look like in terms how much difference in color you get?
I have a smoky topaz LX (Fading badly) and I was thinking of going OD Green to begin with but this had made me reconsider. My main concern is the contrast of color you will get when you open the doors.

I did not go inside of the door jambs. Initially I thought it would bother me but the contrast is not bad from tan to silver so I am probably going to leave well enough alone. I do not lose sleep over it and you cannot see the door jambs bleed from the outside.

I meant to ask you about:
- Quantity ordered
- Extra rollers?
- Number of coats?
- How much left over?
- How long did the process take you?
- What did you do with the emblems

I am ready to order in the next couple of days for my 470. I am going with OD Green (close enough to my crappy smoky topaz) with black grill, door handles, mirror, rear side vents, emblems, roof rack rails.

nice. 2 questions
1. can you apply the liner with out sandint your paint?
2. what kind of tail lights are those ?
thank you

That's gonna look slick.

I ordered a 2 gallon kit which did everything including the roof in 2 coats
I ordered an extra set of 4" rollers and 2" rollers, but did not end up using the 2" rollers
There was about 1/3 of a can left over
The process was about 2 weeks as I was mulling over a color while I was prepping my Cruiser. I decided to take the extra precautions and remove my armor so I could really get into visible places that the armor covers. I also removed and taped up anything so I could be liberal with the roll on process. While rolling you really don't have time to think about "Oh SH!T, I forgot to cover that up". It dries pretty quickly (I'm in Texas).
I took off all the emblems with a heatgun and fishing line and then sanded the hell out of the hatch to get rid of the residual goo that was left on.

Some things I'd do differently are I'd wish I would have went ahead and covered up my rear wing holes with the Monstaliner. I covered my license plate holes since I have a rear bumper but I should have just done the rear wing. I also missed some spots but they don't bother me that much. Also remember to not press too hard or you'll get lines and remember to wipe off paint in spots you do not want with MEK ASAP!
